4 Curved Kitchen Interior Ideas
Curved interiors are a fast upcoming home décor trend. From curved walls, arched doorways to rounded sofas, there’s an endless number of ways to jump on this interior trend!
After the days of monochrome and minimalism, everyone is loving playful and creative interiors. Changing straight harsh lines to sleek curves is the perfect way to make a statement. I am so excited to see bold, bright, and unconventional curved interior designs this year. Are you searching for curved decor inspiration? Keep reading to learn about my 4 favourite curved kitchen interior ideas!
1. Curved corners
Round off those corners! Curved corners give your kitchen a soft and sophisticated look. I love how much character curves add to a space, especially if you have ornate styling. Curved corners are so much more relaxed and are great if you have an open plan room. Curves can help to blend the practicality of the kitchen into the softness of the living room. By adding rounded corners to your units, these small details can coordinate with the rest of your curved interior.
Curved corners are also the perfect choice for young families as they reduce the risk of your little ones bumping their heads on sharp corners. The days of covering dangers corners are gone!
2. A-round the island
My favourite curved kitchen interior idea by far, is a curved island. In a kitchen design, circular elements add movement. Islands are often in the centre of the room, which means curved islands work well within the hustle and bustle that goes on in the kitchen. Round islands are also so much more visually dynamic than a regular rectangle island, they are accessible from all angles and can provide lots of storage space beneath.
What’s the best island cooker hood for a curved island? I’d suggest either to contrast the round lines below with a straight Faber ceiling hood like the Heaven 2.0 or High-light! Or why not try to mimic the design below with a Faber island hood? The gorgeous Nest features a curved glass design which works perfectly for this trend and the (up&down) technology will draw all the attention to the fabulous island underneath.

3. Curved Furniture
Who doesn’t love a rounded chair or sofa?!
I have always opted for these types of chairs in my own home, rather than straight settees. Curved furniture also has the added bonus of being super comfy. If you haven’t sat in one try it out and you’ll see! Depending on the type of seating you choose, the curve of the sofa or chair can also fit more naturally to your body shape. It can support the natural curve of your spine, also helping with posture!
You could also try adding a ‘luxurious’ dining space to your kitchen island by cutting out a curve in the worktop and adding in a built-in curved seating area. This multi-functional space-saving design creates the perfect sociable space, and with a circular table, everyone can see each other when dining!
Another curved furniture idea, is a a curved or arched mirror. Curved mirrors look fabulous in a hall and can create the illusion of a long corridor. Not only does a curved mirror make a room feel more spacious, but it adds light and is so much more unique than a standard mirror.
4. Arches
The resurgence of art deco decor has a great correlation with the rise in the popularity of arches! Kitchen arches are great to draw attention to the height of your walls, adding depth to large rooms. These striking features add a lot of class and I love their grand appearance.
If you have an open-plan kitchen, arches are a lovely way to divide the rooms up. This way you could divide your interiors into two different styles whilst keeping the rooms open to one another.
Arches can also be used to frame certain features in your home. An arched chimney breast around your range cooker can draw so much attention to the appliance and adds a more traditional look.
Fake it till you make it! Adding curves to an interior can take a lot of effort or funding, if you are keeping to a budget, you can paint an arch onto your wall. I fell in love with the tiktok trend of painting on a curve with a block colour. This is a really fun, easy, and cheap way to hop on this trend, I would recommend adding the arch behind some shelves or a painting to create a real focal point!
Summary
Rounded shapes are altogether more inviting, cozy and comfortable, perfect for your safe space. Curves have always had more of an old-world feel, but this year they have been truly modernised and can absolutely be used in a contemporary design. Who knew the shape of the lines in your kitchen could make such a dramatic impact?! The calmness and warmth of curves is exactly what your home needs to feel more welcoming.
